About Northern Paradise Pups
I am blessed to live along the beautiful Selkirk Mountains in Northern Idaho. We are situated on 10 acres in our own little secluded paradise just north of Sandpoint, Idaho.
We specialize in miniature sized Pomeranians, known as "teacup" or "micro."
We are so excited to also offer beautiful AKC French Bulldog puppies for those who love a short hair dog with a huge personality.
I take a great deal of time and care in choosing my breeding dogs. They are not only used for breeding, but are first and foremost a part of our family.
My Poms and Frenchies are raised in our home. We only choose healthy dogs with excellent temperaments and the best qualities in size, build, and coat. I personally love those small, fluffy Pomeranians with the short little teddy bear faces and aim to carry on those adorable features in our pom puppies.
As for my Frenchies, I prefer the lean healthy build and beautiful faces with amazing and unique colors.
A little about me:
I grew up with dogs all of my life. I had a great love for every dog that I came across and (mistakenly) believed that every dog (no matter the breed or temperament) I met loved me like the wild animals loved the princesses on the Disney movies I grew up watching. It took a while for me to accept that I was not in fact a Disney princess who was loved by all wild (and domestic) animals, but it never stopped me from loving them all and trying to save any injured or stray animal I came across.
As a young girl I always dreamed of having property and being able to rescue all the dogs in the dog shelters. It broke my heart seeing strays running the streets and seeing the sad faces of the pups in the shelters. Unfortunately, adopting all of the shelter dogs in the world is not feasible for me. However, I have come to understand that a lot of dogs come to shelters because of over-breeding of random mixed breeds as well as a lack of training or good temperament in the dogs. It is not the fault of the dogs sadly.
A lot of efforts are going out to help lessen the number of dogs being bred by "puppy mills" and "backyard breeders" who are just breeding to produce a ton of puppies, any mix, without regard to the health or temperament just to make a buck. I believe that responsible breeders can have a big part in helping this as well as responsible pet owners looking for their new puppy.
There are a lot of mixed feelings when people talk about dog breeders these days because of all the terribly sad situations we have seen irresponsible people put their dogs through. However, dog breeding is not a bad thing at all, if done correctly by a responsible, loving person. We need good breeders to carry on and improve upon the traits of the breeds, so we do not lose our beautiful purebred lines. I love "mutts" just as much as purebred dogs, but the benefit of a purebred dog is being able to understand and predict the personality and health traits better, trace back their bloodlines, and more easily understand the dog you are getting as well as the needs of their specific breed.
I feel as a breeder, if I can provide healthy, well-tempered, purebred dogs to responsible pet owners who know about the breed, know the responsibilities involved with owning a dog, and offer valuable tools to implement in order to ensure they have a well-behaved dog, then none of my pups will ever end up in a shelter. If more breeders focus on these aspects and more pet owners focus on supporting responsible breeders who care about the life-long welfare of their puppies, then we could possibly have less dogs on the streets and in shelters.

Note: the above photo includes a puppy in it's "ugly puppy stage". Pomeranians go through a funny stage like this as they grow in their adult coat. It's a silly and fun stage, so take lots of pictures as they turn into a beautiful adult with a lush, full coat!
Our aim is to bring the simplicity and friendliness of a small family-run program to the world of designer puppies with our mini Pomeranians. I know from personal experience, that purchasing a small breed puppy (or any puppy for that matter) can come with a lot of questions and concerns. I want to make this step easier for buyers and am here every step of the way to help answer those questions and make sure you are getting the right puppy for you, as well as to make sure you are prepared for your new puppy.
I have experience with purchasing from breeders in the U.S. and overseas who breed on a large scale, not necessarily for quality, but rather quantity. I have endured both good and bad from those interactions. I also have purchased dogs from smaller breeders and have likewise, experienced the good and the bad. I have shipped puppies both through airlines and ground transport. I have experience with many daily life circumstances that come with owning dogs and will gladly answer any questions you may have to the best of my ability.
I have put careful thought into which dogs I breed. I only breed dogs that have the exact quality that I desire to produce, so you can be assured that each of my puppies will be of high quality. I am very picky and have spent years getting the type of quality dogs that I want to reproduce.

Some helpful tips when looking to purchase a puppy:
Many AKC Pomeranians will usually be well over $1,000. The price goes up based on quality, size, and color. If you see any "teacup" Pomeranians for $500, it's bound to be a scam. You can help to avoid scams by looking for good breeders, asking to see pictures of the parents, the litter, or the puppy through different stages. More than likely, a scammer will not have the ability to produce pictures of a puppy as a newborn, and at different ages such as 1 week, 3 weeks, etc. or with it's mother or littermates. This is because they tend to steal single pictures of adorable puppies and try to "sell" the puppy in which the buyer pays the money and never receives the puppy. This happens on many websites, I have even had scammers try to hack my AKC website, luckily they were unable to do so.

In regards to purchasing a quality Pomeranian puppy, depending on what your preferences are, I highly recommend to ask for pictures of the parents, weight of the parents, any known health issues, weight of the puppy with the current age, etc. Look at pictures of past puppies as well to see what quality the breeder produces. The puppy will generally be close in weight to the parents and will have a build similar to that of the parents. For my Pomeranians I like to see what the estimated weight is as an adult. I use Pomeranian growth charts and all you need for this is the age and weight of the puppy. I have found them to be pretty accurate within about 1/2 pound, sometimes to 1 pound, although breeders cannot give an exact weight guarantee because many things can come in to play that can affect weight, such as feeding. I specifically look for puppies with shorter noses. You can look at the parents to see if they have long, skinny faces or short, round teddy-bear faces. The puppies will generally follow the face shape of the parents. I have seen breeders who have cute puppies, but when you check the parents you can see more clearly what characteristics the puppy will carry and see that it may not end up to be the quality you're searching for.
Even if you're not looking to purchase one of my puppies, I'd be more than happy to give any helpful advice or tips when looking into purchasing a puppy from any breeder, large or small.
